hello all!

Hey guys,

Sorry I am a little late on this one... it has been one crazy busy summer "break." My name is Quin Acciani and I will be a senior in the Fall. I am a Management Major with a concentration in Event Planning. I have interned at Brides Magazine, Tumi Travel, and have been interning at Lividini & Co. for over a year. They are a strategic branding and PR firm and I have had the privilege to work on amazing events for Victoria Beckham, Lord & Taylor, Scoop, Tiffany & Co. and many more.

I am a THIRD time mentor and have loved every minute of being and FYE mentor. It truly has added so much to my time at LIM and I hope it does the same for every first year mentor!!

I did it!

I finally figured out how to blog!!

MBTI ASSIGNMENT

Hello Mentors,

During our training we will be doing a session that tells us about different personality types and how we interact with each other. To do this presentation we need all of you to complete the steps below. The following Mentors have already done it, and do not need to do it again:
Caitlyn Lyttle,Christina Romano,Elaina Price,Halley Campbell,Jennifer Poe,Molly Birnbaum
Sean Morant,Chloe Cyr,De’Jonnae Boyd,Gabrielle Wisler,Jennifer Escallon,Julie Amandola,
Natalia Ignarczak,Stephanie Willis. If your name was not listed above then YOU MUST do the following below.

Please click on the link below to access the MBTI Assessment. You must complete this by end of day, Sunday, July 31st in order to participate in the MBTI Workshop during training.
Choose a quiet time when you won’t be interrupted to complete the assessment which will take approximately 20 minutes. Each question will present you with two options for response, forcing you to narrow down your preferences. You may find it difficult to choose responses for some of the questions, but it is best to select your immediate “gut” response for the best overall assessment results. You should also attempt to focus on how you really are, not how you think you “should” be, how others “think” you are, or how you would “like” to be.

Please start your assessment. Here is the URL: Peer Mentors MBTI Assessment

PLEASE MENTORS DO THIS BEFORE SUNDAY JULY 31ST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Talk to you all soon,

Nicholas Spadaro

The Other Wes Moore

Hey Everyone!

Just a friendly reminder to read The Other Wes Moore book! We will be discussing next week during training!

See you all next week!

What to wear for the low ropes course

What to Wear during the Low Ropes Teambuilding Program

General recommendation is to wear comfortable, slightly loose-fitting clothing that enables you to move freely. The ropes course is located in the woods and accessed by a short hike on maintained trails.

‘DO’s’

Sturdy sneakers/hiking shoes ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED. NO Sandals or Flip flops.
(socks also!)
Long pants – Khaki or denim/jeans. Shorts are OK if it’s really hot out
t-shirt or long sleeve shirt. Tank tops are OK also, but bring a t-shirt to layer over just in case!
If it looks like rain, bring raincoat or Gore-Tex jacket.
Bug repellent is available at the camp, however you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
Water Bottle
Put on your Sunscreen
Energy bar if you think you may get hungry (its a 4 hour program). Lunch will be provided after the conclusion of the program.
If you have a medical condition, allergy, or are not feeling well on the day of the program, please advise the group leader!
Bring a camera to get great pictures of you and your friends!
Most importantly… bring a positive, ‘Can-do’ attitude! It’s contagious!!

DON’TS’

NO Flip-flops, sandals, slippers, boots or shoes with heels. For safety reasons, people wearing inappropriate footwear will not be allowed to participate in the Ropes Program.
If you have long hair, bring something to tie it back with
Don’t wear dangling earrings, loose bracelets, watches, long necklaces.
Try not to wear cotton clothing if the weather looks rainy, because it gets wet, does not dry quickly, and you will feel clammy and gross!
NO cell phones, iPods, hand-held games, etc are permitted on the course, You wlll have no use for them, and there is a good chance that the devices could get dropped, damaged or lost during the program.
